DC Water established a Capitol Improvement Project which upgrades the watermain infrastructure and distribution system by targeting strategic areas of concern. This project will improve the infrastructure and increase reliability of water distribution in the DC area.
Fort Myer is responsible for installing approximately 3 miles of water main and copper water service connections to hundreds of homes and several businesses in the affected areas. The contract also entails permanent restoration involving brick sidewalk, concrete sidewalk, and roadway including asphalt milling and overlay.
This project improves the water infrastructure which allows the flow of water to effectively be distributed to DC’s homes and businesses. These new valves and water mains will improve the water quality and distribution to the affected areas.
On this project, Fort Myer is able to work with both DDOT and DC Water to complete the project, to further our goals of environmental stewardship, and play a vital role in improving our very own community.
