The I-95 Bridge Rehabilitations project will rehabilitate six bridges on Interstate 95 in Stafford and Spotsylvania counties. The project will improve the condition of the northbound and southbound bridges that carry I-95 over Aqua Creek and Potomac Creek in Stafford, and the Ni River in Spotsylvania.
Fort Myer Construction is responsible for repairs on the decks, superstructures, substructure concrete, and concrete beam ends. The team replaced several beam bearings and handled all deck patching, joint reconstruction, deck overlay, concrete slope protection repairs, and provided regular safety inspections.
The bridges are over waterways and adjacent wetlands. Environmental & sediment control measures are a critical component for this project. To ensure that there are no major incidents, mandatory inspections are performed weekly and within 48 hours following a storm.
